Your energy bills stay predictable because efficient construction means better heat retention and proper airflow. That’s money back in your pocket every heating season.
Above and Beyond Chimney has been serving Bristol County homeowners for over 25 years. We understand how coastal moisture affects chimney brickwork here and the specific challenges that come with building in Massachusetts.
Our team knows the local building codes inside and out. We’ve worked with the Acushnet Building Department countless times, so your permits and inspections go smoothly.
Every chimney we build uses materials designed for New England weather. We’re not just following a manual – we’re applying decades of experience in this exact climate.
We start with a site assessment to understand your home’s specific needs and any unique challenges. This includes checking foundation requirements, clearance issues, and local code considerations.
Next comes the permit process. We handle the paperwork with the Acushnet Building Department and schedule all required inspections. You won’t have to navigate the bureaucracy.
Construction begins with proper foundation work, then moves through each phase methodically. We use the right materials for each component – fire brick for the firebox, appropriate mortar for the climate, and proper flue lining that meets Massachusetts requirements.
Final inspection ensures everything meets code before we consider the job complete. You get documentation showing your chimney was built to last.

Massachusetts requires all masonry chimneys to be lined – no exceptions. We install proper chimney liners that meet State Building Code Section 780 CMR 6001.8 requirements.
Your chimney must extend at least 2 feet higher than any part of your building within 10 feet, and at least 3 feet above where it passes through the roof. We calculate these measurements precisely.
Bristol County’s coastal location means extra attention to moisture protection. We use appropriate flashing, caps, and waterproofing techniques that work specifically in this climate.
Clearance requirements are strict – 2 inches minimum from combustibles for interior chimneys, 1 inch for exterior ones. We build with these clearances built in, not added as an afterthought.
